The story of Ken and Ryan Parsons, The Brothers That Just Do Gutters, started with hard work and a dream to be a community-loved contractor. The goal was to create a unique experience with the homeowner, invest in their employees, source the best products, and create training methods for their staff. They did all of these and started to rise above the rest. Their approach to recruiting, training, and fostering employee's growth are all reasons why they are experts at this.

Ryan and Ken Parsons have proven to be very successful in hiring and retaining top talent in their company. Join them for a lunch-and-learn conversation on what Ryan terms “relentless recruiting” and how and why you should be recruiting every single day.

Whitsitt Elementary

Located in south Nashville, Whitsitt serves 500+ students—93% of whom qualify for the federal free/reduced lunch program. Centrally located in the Woodbine neighborhood, Whitsitt serves as a hub of activity in the community. To further engage their neighbors, Whitsitt has undertaken an effort to make their outdoor spaces more functional and welcoming to the public.

Volunteers are invited to support this effort. Projects may include:

  • Building an outdoor nature playscape adjacent to the grounds
  • Constructing reading benches and student easels
  • Creating trails around the school campus by clearing brush and prepping soil
  • Planting native species by the creek to help with drainage
  • Installing drainage in areas of the campus prone to flooding
  • Touching-up outdoor learning murals
